like to me all the characters never resolving their problems sucks but five not resolving anything at all feels like a long, long gutpunch since season 3. you're telling me that the guy who hauled ass through three apocalypses and didn't care about the time agency's rules about regulating time, not to save the world, but to save a very specific group of people, just rolled over and died at the end? that he would sacrifice everything, break rules, move heaven and earth just to save his family, and then decide to give it all up at the end?

TBB S3 - Why Wrecker Will Die (Ep 8-12 Spoilers)

Ok, I’ve seen all kinds of posts predicting who in the Batch is gonna end up dying by the end of S3, I’ve seen Hunter, Echo, and maybe even Omega.

But I’ve been thinking about it, and I just realized…

What if Wrecker dies?

Wrecker has gotten a lot of character development recently, from being the voice of reason for Hunter in Ep 2 to showing off his expertise in explosives in Ep 8. But there’s something else.

THINK ABOUT IT, PEOPLE.

HE’S ALWAYS GETTING HURT THIS SEASON.

Ep 8 (Bad Territory): Almost got STABBED when fighting Sylar. TWICE.

Ep 9 (The Harbinger): Force choked by Ventress

Ep 11 (Point of No Return): Was unconscious for the majority of the episode after narrowly escaping the Marauder when it exploded

Ep 12 (Juggernaut): Almost FELL OFF PHEE’S SHIP when escaping Erebus

WHY is he getting so much character development?

WHY is he getting so many close calls?

and WHYYYYY is this so similar to another dear brother's character arc who departed us?

Tech had a LOT of character development in S2, and there were multiple moments when he slipped or stumbled, FORESHADOWING his deathly fall.

hi sorry i took a day to respond to this!! (btw part of the reasoning for this is that ur ask pushed me to finally create a table listing every single time that aziraphale's clock displays throughout s2, which is why most of this will be abt the clock)

i will actually launch into essays abt the timing of the last episode i'm not even kidding

to be perfectly honest with u at first i thought it was trying to mimic books, when timing would change to fit a scene (and not to point fingers at writers who do this ig but i just don't typically like stories like these lmao) but even that doesn't explain the damned clock (i am so done with the clock, its presence haunts me) + why would Neil ever have any reason to mimic amateur writing???

anyway, i'm killing myself over any way to make sense of the timing in that episode rn.

like unless if the way time works in the uk has changed since i last lived there, and if aziraphale changed time during the Halo Scene (this also brings up the question of How Much and What Else did he change, which to the latter i don't think he changed Anything) which btw in the Halo Scene, its 6am and while i can't find the exact time at the start of The Ball (if u can pls tell me i'd love to expand on this, rn it's just a bunch of ramblings put into a google doc) or- more technically i found One tiiiiny scene from the bts clips that MIGHT be the correct time but i have yet to check this lmao (according to the clip it's 6:30pm which, if true, only adds to the utterly bewildering timeframes)

BUT ALSO everybody seems to have a sense of time (as seen in the nina, "i havent slept in 30 hours, order accurately & fast") which means that MAYBE IT'S JUST US?? which makes this whole thing so much more confusing bc if thats the case then why. whyyyyy. Why would you EVER use a working clock??????

i have SO MUCH to say abt the timeframes at the END especially. but before i do, i really wanna know what u think (btw this isn't me trying to pawn my answer on u i just really wanna know ur opinions on Everything gomens related haha)

ok sorry for caring abt silly little death game series but s2 has been so misogynistic holy shit like introducing akane and like Hinting at her character arc (while not devoting enough time to actually developing her) and then literally fridging her while also removing any contributions she made in the manga was so like whyyyyy

and then completely changing the king of spades game to include the other main characters during the final confrontation - which like obvi this isn't a "women shouldn't fight" thing but all kuina an and akane do is contribute nothing and get brutalized

and like making daimon exaggeratedly ditzy - which like yes she was to some extent in the manga as well but at least it explained why she was competent enough to participate in the king of diamonds game; inexplicably making one of kyuma's women bandmates into a guy; making the queen of spades's entire character just like. frigid bitch who is like attracted to arisu for some reason and placed narratively in opposition to usagi

like obv it's alice in borderland, the source material was never some like feminist masterpiece in the first place but idk why the show went out of its way to like . be worse

also aside from that it just feels like the writers forgot what the suits of the cards are supposed to mean? like the queen of spades game felt more like hearts or clubs and the games they showed in the montage were like. idk what going around in a maze being chased by a wild animal has to do w hearts, and knocking people off/hanging onto a rope seems way more spades than clubs. like idk at least the montage in s1 took care to explain the rules of the games they were showing

I love tua I really do but the only season I actually like is s1. What happened to the drama to the interpersonal relationships why did it get turned into “actually we just have silly sibling fights now” WHYYYYY and the dark aesthetic omg. S1 had everything and s2 was fun and s3 was…gay so I can give it that. I guess. But still I will forever miss the aesthetic and raw emotion that got lost between s1 and s2

Part 2 of the pilot for season 2 of pitbabe!!! So, while the gang are gathering at the way's funeral site, Dean, winner and kenta, are out of prison and drive by, and it seems they are ready to get their lick back lol. And way is back! I wonder who he's gonna show himself to first! And since pete sense allows him to resd other thoughts and feelings. i wonder if he'll notice something, but I up. can tell Tony is gonna make sure it seems to make their lives miserable 😫😫😫

I agree something weird happened behind the scenes in Bridgerton because who vilifies the heroine in a romance? Who doesn’t give the heroine a good monologue? Especially after she’s been told off and treated like she’s conniving when we all know she sacrificed years of her life and was willing to sacrifice her happiness for her sister’s sake and suffered all season? Who doesn’t let the heroine say anything about that? Who doesn’t put the heroine front and center in promo? There were so many bad decisions in s2. It’s like they didn’t understand the expectations for historical romance or the audience for it at all. Forever grateful for Simone and JB but the writers and showrunner…I have no words!

I really think there’s layers to it but also just bad management. I think the writing team should have worked together to write episodes and not divided them up. It’s not cohesive.

I think they did want to do something different that season 1 which okay sure but they took it too far and completely missed the mark for the romance genre like you said.

I think CVD had a realllllly weird obsession with Edwina. Again, which I don’t understand? Like okay flesh her out more but good god they changed her completely??? And then try and make her the main character for some reason? We!! Aren’t!! Here!! For!! Edwina!!!! I don’t!!! Care!!!! About!!! The Goddamn wedding!!!!!!!! Screw all your BTS, the obsession with the dress, etc on that one terrible, episode where you basically assassinate characters left and right. I tried. I tried so hard to understand. But I’m so over it. Everything I have learned or heard about that episode makes me mad. I am not hating on the actress but good god everything she says just makes it worse and makes herself look worse. Did she think she was the hero? Even my causal viewer friends did not like edwina. (Also, that one quote where it felt like her wedding, etc and how she’s can’t quite separate herself from the character…like maybe you’re in the wrong career that’s really not good for your mental health. I’d say the same if it was any other person on who said that instead. A character is always going to get hate no matter who they are. You have to accept criticism. Note: she is a good actress so pls no one try and kill me)

Also let’s just try and villainize your leads (like let’s be honest there were points where we just didn’t want to root for Anthony with his behaviour) and let everyone shit on them and then try to sell the sister soulmates tag line and the family love (Christ we didn’t even see that with the Bridgertons they were just MEAN).

I’m not one to make conspiracy theories but a part of me really feels like they felt they couldn’t promote a openly gay man and an a brown woman for a romance so they didn’t try. I think CC had a louder voice than SA (who maybe is just quiet generally) and things went her way a bit more promo wise (why do I also think she got babied a bit bc she’s relatively new to acting? That might be my imagination though). I think they scrambled after rege’s exit but for the life of me can’t imagine how that effected the scripts that much (except maybe adding more Featherington scenes?).

Part of me thinks there was alterer motives but honestly I think it comes down to a lack of leadership/direction or at least some people up top had conflicting ideas about the season and this was the garbage they produced

Regé Speaks Out on IG

Took me a couple of day but we finally made it! I hope I did him justice and  that you all enjoy reading this. Anyone who’s perpetrated the harm and hate mentioned below to him, I hope you read this all the way through and reevaluate. 

I honestly still can’t believe he posted this. I think this is the closest he’ll come to say anything against past productions in his career. 

Obviously, it may not be pointed only at The Bee Show but rather an overview stance he's taking against his whole career experience thus far as Mimi has said similarly here too but still it’s a pretty big step to come forward. 

Honestly, I’ve been waiting for a statement like this since S2 dropped or even when he left. I’m so so happy he’s gotten to a safe place where he feels like he can say this now without big repercussions. Then again he also kept it vague enough that no one particular production can say “Hey no slandering us” but still sends a clear message to those who have conducted themselves awfully on set and also by not protecting their cast of colour. 

I can’t speak to the previous productions he was a part of pre-Bridgerton but we’ve seen how superficial the Bton team has been this season especially and now that they have their white couple, they have already started promotion - they haven’t even finished filming yet. Now let’s take a look at the ‘fans’ who ‘loved’ his Duke so much that they ended up turning on him:

They really showed themselves this way. They only like him for what he - well more likely his body - can provide for them. It’s honestly disgusting. Let him be happy for fuck’s sake. Which is why I’m elated he’s booked, busy and can actually say this.

I was initially going to sum up all the anons I got in one post but the topic got way off track. I’ll be acknowledging and owning up to that in a second part but this is the main post and Regé & his treatment are the main focus. I do not want to dismiss or diminish his experience with production. Anyways, here are two that call out production and the cast as a whole and mention Regé (and by extension Simone as the other POC lead) deserve better. 

First anon pretty much said it all - I don’t expect shit from the same Production that gave us those horrible lines - so I don’t have much to add on that front for this post but will be expanding on the cast’s side in Part 2. 

Second anon: I mean I covered this before but IG likes aren’t reflective of anything but yeah ultimately there’s bigger and better things out there for them - hell we are already seeing it with Regé who got The Gray Man and signed on for the D&D movie. I’m sure he (and Simone) will be just fine!!

To sum up, Regé should have been treated better by the fans and production, he definitely should have been protected and I hope he’s living his best life right now!

I have a question about Hyoga and from a review of his wiki page it hasn’t been answered or revealed yet- but what the hell did he do in the modern world? Its unsettling that for every named revived character we get some context of what they did pre-petrification. Like, even Max and Carlos! We have more information about them and what they did before than we do with Hyoga! And Hyoga is our 2nd baddie still kinda at large just shoved to the back burner because of why man.

Things we know about Hyoga:  1. Tsukasa searched for him- knew him. Then Hyoga must have been from the 21st century. Could he be someone also in the fighting ring/realm? Could he have been an brief meeting of celebrities like Gen? I doubt that since if it was true then that would’ve been mentioned earlier. 2. Homura has complete trust and loyalty to Hyoga. Why? Did this trust come from the stone world or from the modern world? I don’t think its because she has a crush on Hyoga... 3. His preferred weapon is a kudayari- I’m not sure if its my Americanness that makes me unaware of how common that weapon is in Japan 21k but I really don’t think it was/is? Like, was he in a yari club?? I know Kyudo clubs exist so maybe???? But even then that feels iffy, granted in track and field there is javelin but ??? why does Hyoga have proficiency with a kudayari????  4. His Darwinist mindset- what created that belief? From Tsukasa we see that motivations can be tracked, nothing is random. 5. In the end of s2 there was a great imagery of him standing before Tsukasa and Senku with the crescent moon behind him forming almost horns. I thought this was mimicking how Tsukasa could be compared to god and Hyoga the devil- and I still stand by that a bit! But now with what we know about the moon I have a couple of theories.         a) Hyoga was the current and present threat even as the larger dominant threat hung above them watching         b) Why-man wasn’t expecting anyone to wake up hence the whyyyyy? so just as the kingdom of science is starting on their feet, why-man is turning to face them- more symbolic thematically         c) And this one is wild- Hyoga is some how connected to why man. Is he the traitor?

I just got a bunch of questions and it hit me how god damn weird it is that we know almost nothing about Hyoga’s life before petrification when it’s been over 4 years since chapter 1 and 176 chapters since his introduction.

Continuing my TVD rewatch in 2021 (bc why not maximize procrastination clowning) and like the Ian/Kat chemistry truly still JUMPS out I mean just barely one look per episode and I'm still riveted lol. Really no one else had that much chemistry on the show, not till Kat/Chris and maybe I'd say Caroline/Tyler (lol idk the actors names) did too.

And like not to scandalize my 17 year old self but yea S*lena had more chemistry and were better written than D*lena. The less i say about the latter the better but to sum up ian/kat chemistry appreciator for LIFE!!!

The originals in s2 were so amazing, peak TVD villains, they never lived up to their introductions honestly.
